Poetry Collection by Prabhat Verma
My poetry is not an opinion expressed. It is a song which either arises from a bleeding wound, or from a smiling face.

BROKEN HEART

Oh what fool I was, I could not see the love in your eyes,
You were standing in front of me with your arms wide open, Like the sky bends down to embrace earth at the horizon, I was too busy collecting the leaves falling from the trees, I missed blooming flowers of this spring.

Too late before I realized it was winter,
And you were married to my best friend,
He was like me more or less, but he wasn't me,
And I was left all alone with the memories of the fallen leaves, Which were once green and lived in the arms of the tree.

Now for my mistakes I do repent,
And I see you sad everyday, in the arms of my happy friend, That love which was, is now, could have been,
Beautiful but not perfect as my eyes have seen,
My ears have heard and my soul has searched,
All my life I live alone waiting to be touched.
